Everything worked well. My only complaint was the initial requirement for ID verification, e.g. picture of driving licence plus a utility bill. I would have cancelled the booking if they insisted on having this as I believe this is too dangerous to provide as organised criminals could steal my identity if the system was hacked. Fortunately, communication with the main provider, Edinburgh Self-Catering resolved the situation.

The apartment was beautifully furnished and decorated, with high spec kitchen and bathroom fittings etc. so we were very comfortable. The Broughton area is packed with cafes, bars and restaurants. Check in went smoothly, using a key safe which I much prefer to arriving at a fixed time to meet someone.

Very clean accommodation and easy to check in and out. All appliances and heating and hot water worked well during our stay. It would be nice to have some hanging closet space in the master bedroom. We used the hall closet for this. Overall, very pleasant stay in a nice residential neighborhood.

Really lovely apartment in great part of the city. Cosy furniture and grand master bedroom, all right in the middle of the relaxed, village-feel area of Marchmont. We really enjoyed our stay. Great communication from owner.

This apartment is perfect! Brilliant location, really clean and everything you need. The apartment is so big, great size for two couples to relax in the evening after a day discovering the city. We spent a week here and it was a great place to stay. Can't fault it, will definitely be back.

All facilities in the apratment. 2 very large bedrooms ensuite and a third with a large bathroom beside it. Very well stocked kitchen for a 3 week+ holiday. I could even bake! Lovely furniture and original prianings, one by an artist friend of ours who was visiting. He was deligthed to know whom it had been sold to. Very good bus service nearby. Lovely big table and beautiful crockery for entertaining, even on holiday. I felt like a lady of leisure with a house in the town for friends to come to!

The whole experience was not very welcoming
There were endless lists of rules and regulations
Punitive actions if we failed to do this or that

Due to the sudden surge of bookings for Stuckdarach following COVID restrictions, the cleaning team has been very busy and with changeover cleans and checks between outgoing and incoming guests.
They endeavour to ensure the property is looking stunning, on occasions they learn of issues only at the end of a stay, such as the damaged door on one upper kitchen unit. The kitchen is under warranty and the kitchen supplier had to booked to refit.
For the hot tub after each departure they drain down and refill and redose for every new guest arrival to ensure hygiene and sanitization is perfect. It was at 32 degrees upon arrival but overnight reached perfect temperature.
The tumble dryer was checked on departure and everything was working fine.
The owners strive to provide their guests with a very private secluded accommodation for a special holiday or a break. The 200 year old listed buildings are restored and modernized with great care and attention to detail.
If they are notified of any concerned, they strive to react immediately to resolve any issues and all comments from this review have now been dealt with.
