Welcome to the Mapmakers Townhouse, where fascinating Edinburgh history and imposing architecture meets modern luxury, space, light and attention to detail. It once formed part of the famous Bartholomew Mapmakers firm.
It's said that the botanical gardens in Edinburgh is one of the best in the world with exotic plants and various trees from all over the world. In winter time, everything is covered in snow and if you come at the right time you can see how rare winter plants bloom.
One of my favorite activities during the winter is honestly, anything that you can do in the snow, but specifically ice skating. Your strap on your skates, step out onto the ice and just glide in tune to whatever Christmas song is playing overhead.
The official residence of the British monarch in Scotland is situated opposite to Edinburgh Castle. A 17th century palace features apartments of Mary, Queen of Scots, that are open for the public to view. It is also haunted by Bald Agnes, who was accused of witchcraft. Maybe you will meet her too.
