Identity Verification & Guest Screening
To maintain a secure environment for our community, all lead guests at The Edinburgh Address are required to complete a digital identity verification process. This is managed on our behalf by our trusted partner, Truvi (incorporating Know Your Guest).
What we collect and why:

Verification: We require a government-issued ID (Passport, Driving License, or National ID) and a real-time biometric "selfie."

Purpose: This ensures the person booking is the person arriving, verifies the guest meets our minimum age requirement of 25, and prevents fraudulent bookings.

Address Proof: We may request a utility bill or official statement to confirm your residential address.
Security & Damage Protection:
This process is also linked to your Damage Deposit or Waiver. Truvi securely handles the pre-authorization of deposits and the processing of waivers. Please note that Truvi does not accept American Express for these transactions.
How your data is handled:
We prioritize your privacy. The Edinburgh Address does not store copies of your ID documents on our local servers. Documents are processed by Truvi using industry-standard encryption. Once verification is complete, we retain only the "Verified" status and necessary audit logs. Your ID data is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and [Truvi’s Privacy Policy].
Verification must be completed at least 14 days prior to check-in to ensure your stay is confirmed.
Please note that once you have booked, you will be contacted by Truvi / Know Your Guest directly to verify yourself and process a damage deposit payment or purchase a damage waiver. The damage deposit payment will incur a fee (varies per property – please refer to the listing description for more details). Truvi / Know Your Guest verification must be completed two weeks prior to check-in.
Truvi / Know Your Guest do not accept American Express.
