Edinburgh boasts a rich, deep history of culture and art intertwined in its grand architecture and winding streets. With its palaces, a medieval monastery, graveyards and unforgettably the castle, visiting Edinburgh is like talking a visual history lesson whilst being on an adventure. Add to this setting numerous parks including the famous Meadows and Bruntsfield Links, more trees and greenery than you could shake a stick at, one very long and windy canal, and of course the East coast-line, and you have one very beautiful city. On top of all of its natural beauty and historic architecture, Edinburgh is world famous for the festivals and cultural events which take part season after season, year after year.

Spring

Of course, there is the legendary Fringe Festival which takes place every August, enticing hundreds of thousands of people to watch the thousands of performers. Along with this we have the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which is spectacular. But it’s the smaller, more discreet festivals and events which are approaching as spring turns to summer.

Royal Mile

From the 29th of April until the 10th of May is the TradFest Edinburgh, showcasing amazing traditional Scottish music, arts and crafts. Then we have the Imaginate Festival of arts for children from the 11th of May. At the end of May is the famous Edinburgh marathon which is expected to welcome over 30,000 participants! The Cycling Festival starts on the 11th of June, the Leith Festival starts on the 13th and the world-famous Edinburgh International Film Festival on the 17th of June. As if beautiful Edinburgh needed any extra magic added - the end of June and coming into July is Edinburgh International Magic Festival!
