As part of Scotland’s ‘Year of Food and Drink’, the month of May is being dedicated to the delicious cinnamon coloured liquid, celebrating Scotland as it’s place of origin. When thinking of Scotland, the image of a good dram, or a scotch on the rocks is easily conjured. ‘Uisge beatha' –  Gaelic for whisky, translating as the ‘water of life’ is as Scottish as kilts and Highlands cows are!

World Whisky Day is on the 16th of May – where better to celebrate it than in Scotland’s historical capital city – Edinburgh. Of course all over Scotland will be fabulous – the weather is beautiful at this time of year with the spring becoming summer – and whisky events are held all over, from the cities to the Highlands and Islands.
