The Rocpool Apartments are really something. With beautiful attention to detail in their fabulous interiors and within easy reach of so many gems in the West End, they make the perfect place to stay for a city break. The West End is home to lots of Edinburgh's independent businesses and boutiques and some delicious local restaurants; we've selected some of our favourites to get you started!

Shop

Studio 1 has so many good things! For all things homey and decorative this is the place to go. Recent purchases include a moomintroll angelspiel and hand-made coloured wineglasses but there are also lights, candles, toys, baking tools, and countless other things on offer. It also happens to be right next to Paper Tiger for beautifully quirky stationary and paper ephemera. Definitely the place to come for a last minute gift! Frontiers is on the other side for beautiful unique clothing and accessories, or take a walk down nearby William Street for lots of lovely little boutiques. Frasers is also a five minute walk away for those looking for big brands and designers. Shopping heaven...

Snack

Loudons is the place to go. All goods are freshly baked on the premises; you can see the work in progress through a clever little corner window, there's something really satisfying about seeing the delicious things you're about to eat being made from only handfuls of flour and eggs before your very eyes. The cakes are incredible and there are many suitable for coeliacs and those with wheat or dairy intolerances; as Marie Antoinette once said, "let them eat cake". The weekend brunch menu is equally good with lots of delicious options and all coffee is from Artisan Roast - arguably the best available in Edinburgh. With all of this, what's not to like?

Relax

There's one nearby which really takes the biscuit. Chamomile Sanctuary has so much on offer with lots of packages to cover everything. You can be pampered from top to toe or really focus on one area for fast beauty essentials. There are some aromatherapy sessions available which sound absolutely heavenly; the Ultimate Aromatherapy Experience is calling...

Feast

We had a hard time choosing what to feature for dinner; you really are spoiled for choice! In the end we settled on the following; Chop Chop on Morrison Street for an authentic Chinese sharing meal and proud recipient of an AA Rosette; Edinburgh Larder's "Scottish landscape on a plate", using the best of local produce to create deliciously ethical dishes; and La P'tite Folie for unbeatable traditional French food and a very reasonable lunch offer of two courses for £11.50 (Kir Royal is only £5.25 as an added bonus). Le De-Vin is right next door as well so once dinner is finished you can gracefully migrate to enjoy a sophisticated glass of wine and conversation.

So there you have it, The Edinburgh Address West End picks. Why not book one of our apartments and try out the above for yourself?
