Did you know.... The name of our apartment is based on a horsey theme as the Playfair Building (the college’s flagship building) was built on the site of a former riding stables.
The Edinburgh Address Ltd manages bookings on behalf of the Property Owner. The property owner provides the accommodation.
Booking Requirements -
One member of the booking party must be over 25 years. We require names and ages of all guests, as well as proof of address and ID of the lead guest. This is required within 2 days of booking.
We will require the lead guest to sign a copy of our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to vet any booking.

Situated in Edinburgh's city centre, (The Historic Old Town) The Gait @ Hill Square Suites provides a peaceful retreat whilst being just a short distance from major tourist attractions and the vibrant city centre. Nearby local shops offer convenient access to essential amenities. Further, Edinburgh Fringe Festival's central Underbelly locations George Square and Bristo Square are a 5 minute walk from the property. For corporate guests, business locations such as the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and many office spaces are a 25 minute walk through Edinburgh's leafy Meadows area, or a quick taxi drive away. The Gait is also the perfect location for Edinburgh University, Napier University, Edinburgh College of Art, and Herriot Watt University, for parents visiting their adult children, attending graduations, and helping with the move. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Gait @ Hill Square! The apartment is incredibly spacious with beautiful high ceilings, making it the perfect base for a larger group. It perfectly blends historic charm with modern comfort - the rooms are stylish, immaculate, and the super king-sized beds were exceptionally comfortable. The location is unbeatable for exploring Edinburgh’s Old Town, just a short walk from the National Museum of Scotland and the university. A huge bonus was having access to the Ten Hill Place Hotel facilities right next door, including the gym and delicious breakfast options. The check-in process at the hotel reception was seamless, and the communication from the host team at The Edinburgh Address was excellent throughout. Overall, a true gem in the heart of the city!

Our family was comfortable at Anna’s. 6 of us each had plenty of space to spread out, yet we still enjoyed family time at the dining room table and in the living room. Surgeons Quarter was the perfect location for exploring Edinburgh and all that it has to offer. The space was clean and the daily housekeeping service was a real bonus.

We loved this apartment- it was perfect for our family of 7. Short walk to the Royal Mile, and grocery store nearby. We were able to park our cars in the private lot. The convenience of the hotel for breakfast was a big plus as well. Very easy check in. Just be careful with the steep steps down to bedrooms!

Wow what a great place to stay. We were in for a week stay for a family wedding. The place was better than described. Check in at The Gait hotel made everything so easy. To our great surprise housekeeping came and checked with us everyday to see if we needed anything. Great stores, restaurants and historical sites all in walking distance. The kitchen was a great size to do meals with the families and the lounge area was great to end our nights playing games and socializing. All the bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. Also, having a washer and dryer was a huge help as making a trip from over the pond we were able to not have to over pack. If you are planning a trip to Edinburgh Scotland I would 1000% recommend you stay here.

The Gait is in a perfect location for a large group in Edinburgh. The place is well kept, very spacious, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The check in and check out process was extremely efficient.

Lovely place exactly as advertised, extremely handy having the hotel across the road for breakfasts etc. We were coming down when it was a weather warning and they phoned us and helped move the booking slightly. Will definitely be back.

This apartment worked out really well for my family trip to Edinburgh. We had 3 generations, totaling 8 family members and we had enough space for all of us. The host accommodated our bed needs and communicated promptly. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The stairs are a little wonky but we were just extra careful going up and down. We appreciated that the lights in the living room all had USB ports for charging. There were plenty of towels for everyone. The shared bathrooms are nice and they have towel warmers! One interesting thing about the apartment is that is affiliated with the hotel across the street. I did not realize we would get house keeping and could order room service (we did not, so I can’t say anything about that). The location was quiet and the one incident we had was promptly taken care of by the hotel staff. My sister and her husband went to the hotel breakfast buffet one morning and enjoyed it. One cool thing was that on Wednesday night the Surgeons’ Hall was having a formal dinner, there was a bagpiper at the entrance and we could hear him play from the apartment. We walked everywhere, except for my 87 year old father who took a taxi up to Edinburgh Castle. The hotel called for a pick-up for him. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

All three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Edinburgh flat. The size of the rooms and the character of the property were just a couple of the outstanding features but more importantly, the level of service we received from start to finish was top notch. It's a really lovely apartment, very much up there with the best we've rented over the years. A huge winner, top end for visitors who are out & about, but want to eat in and sleep well on top of it all!!
