To return to the property: head back along the High Street until you reach Mid Terrace.
Me and two of my friends stayed here for a full 7 days and enjoyed every moment.
The price to quality ratio is amazing. The location as well as an entire house (3 floors), open back garden/yard only added to the peace we had whilst staying here.
The host has been a treat to communicate with and helped every step of the way from the smallest asks and biggest questions.
The distance from the train station, despite being a lovely walk and gorgeous no matter what path you take, is a challenge due to those walks being 15-20 minutes. I would recommend if anyone who wishes to stay here who has a walking ailment/disability that you heavily consider this information.
However the two paths are both very pretty whether you want to hike through the local woods or go via the road.
In summary, the house was lovely and felt like a home, the surrounding destination(s) were a joy to explore, every local shop/restaurant/pub were an experience worth the time, effort, and money! 10/10.

We spent 10 days in Queensferry. We love the peacefulness of this town and all the walking trails!
The place is beautiful and was neat to stay in such an old home. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and we also loved staying in and cooking.
The owner is a great host and we hope to return to her place again!!

We hit the jackpot when we chose to stay at this Queensferry home. The location was amazing and the house itself was beyond our expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again.

Stylish and comfortable with amazing surroundings.
- 19 Aug 2025
Beautiful apartment elegantly furnished by the owner in the central street of Queensferry just outside Edinburgh, convenient to reach by taking the bus that leaves a few metres from the house.
The apartment is suitable for a family of 4 people as we were and also the good spaces, including the shower (not in the bathtub).

A place to stay with a very tasteful, special ambience! The house has the perfect location for guests who like to seek peace and quiet after a turbulent day. Although the kitchen has no window, this was not a problem for us due to a wonderful living room on the first floor. We love this house and the owner is a very reliable landlady. It was all to our complete satisfaction!

The owner's place is a marvel. Be sure to read the pamphlet she provides to learn the rich history of the place, then look around at all the exquisite furnishings, many of them made from upcycled materials. Lastly, take a walk around her charming town, then put your feet up in the backyard garden, or in the tranquil living room. Getting to Edinburgh is easy by bus or train, and the owner's place is a lovely refuge from the city’s packed summer streets.

Very comfortable stay for four adults. Heating very effective. A great view of the bridge and centrally placed for all the local restaurants etc. 2 minute walk from the bus stop and great bus service all the way to central Edinburgh made getting around very easy. Highly recommended.

Fabulous town house in a beautiful town. The location is perfect and the property is stunning and as described. Very clean and well kept with interesting and tasteful decoration and the beds were so comfy! Great information provided about the property and local area. Had everything you needed. Would highly recommend.

Right from the start the owner has been an amazing host. Even though we never met physically, she was friendly, professional and extremely pleasant. Everything was communicated in a clear and cogent way. There was an instruction manual, with guides and recommendations, that left nothing to chance ! Getting to the place was easy and all the directions provided were very helpful. We arrived in the morning but check in was at 3 pm. The owner was very flexible, allowing us to let us leave our bags and head back to the city where we had things planned. The townhome itself was very neat and clean having a lot of history and character. The view of the estuary (Firth of forth) was beautiful ! If you need a beautiful townhome near the water to relax and enjoy a peaceful few days then this is it. The 43 (from The loan bus stop) bus takes you right into the heart of Edinburgh city (Princess St.) and is very handy. Taxi cab service is good but can prove expensive for some. Highly recommended place!

I'm so glad I booked this place instead of staying in Edinburgh. The town is beautiful and peaceful, and we found it easy to get around. The house is curated with great care, and the attention to detail made our stay so special. The description is accurate. Some may find the top floor bathroom too inconvenient, but the charm and beauty more than made up for any inconvenience. I would absolutely book again.

My dad and I stayed at the Boathouse and had an incredible experience. The place is stunning and Nicola provided amazing recommendations and amenities that made our stay even better. She was super friendly and communicative as well. If we ever get the chance to come back, we would love to stay here again!

This place was even nicer than the photos! The owner left a thoughtful guide book to the space, as well as a list of recommendations for coffee, food, etc. often those guides are really out of date but this felt really thoughtful and current! The home feels like an art gallery, with historic details and gorgeous design elements. I would recommend it to any kind of traveller! Located right in the Main Street and close to the 43 bus into Edinburgh. A perfect stay!

A perfect spot with a great view. An easy 20 minute ride to Edinburgh. Lots of places to try in Queensferry as well. The accommodations and decor make it feel very homey. So much art and books to take a peek at! We also loved that the host supports local businesses to stock the townhouse and gives travelers local products to try. The garden is also a wonderful highlight!

We felt very comfortable in the townhouse. It is very, very loving, tasteful and cozy. Everything is there, even coffee pods and shower gel. The house is very central, but quiet. The owner responded immediately and kindly to questions. We would rent the house again without hesitation.

Very very beautiful house, a little garden at the back, well furnished, everything well explained in a booklet the owner left for us. Truly charming interior, we loved it.

The townhouse is a delight, full of character & style; we particularly loved the views of the bridge which even superseded the pictures. In terms of location, the townhouse is right on the high street which is perfect for shops, brunch ( great place just across) , a drink, or even just a stroll by the bay. It also made a great base for our visits into Edinburgh, with buses & trains easy accessible and regular to the centre. We also found no problem getting taxis to & from Edinburgh old town & Murrayfield.
The owner was very helpful & friendly throughout, giving clear instructions and helpful recommendations to ensure we made the most of our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this townhouse, and hope to return again next time we are staying in the area!

Staying here was a true pleasure! The artistic decor and stunning view of the Forth Road Bridge made this place feel like a peaceful haven. The bridge views from the bathroom are breathtaking, especially at sunset when it lights up. Every room has been beautifully decorated with unique art pieces and cozy furnishings, creating a space that’s both inspiring and welcoming. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the whole space was immaculate. Our host was so thoughtful, even leaving us welcome treats of biscuits, fresh milk and a much appreciated bottle of wine! With charming cafes nearby and a great restaurants, loved rogue bros@ the boat house, easy access to scenic paths along the water, it’s the perfect escape for art lovers, couples, or anyone wanting a relaxing getaway. It’s also very easy to commute into Edinburgh town. We had our teenager in tow and she was extremely happy with the WiFi! We’d come back in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We had such a wonderful stay! The owner's accommodation is just as pictured, and every detail is considered. We felt right at home, and incredibly lucky to stay there. A beautiful location, in quaint and quiet Queensferry, with great restaurants and independent coffee shops along the street. Don’t delay your booking, you will be so glad you did!

We had a lovely stay in South Queensferry's townhouse. The location is charming, with many small shops right outside the door. It's also very close to public transport, and the bus offers a very scenic route in to Edinburgh. The townhouse is spacious and beautiful. It was quite cold though, as should be expected in a historic home like this. So we went out to buy warmer clothing to wear indoors on our second day. So I do recommend bringing some warm indoor clothing when you visit. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. We would love to visit again!
