Fringe shows take in place in both traditional and unique settings across the capital city, from swimming pools to boxing rings, providing opportunities to be educated, entertained and engaged. Edinburgh Military Tattoo: 2-24 August 2024 The tattoo aims to be "the world’s greatest immersive event(s), producing atmospheric spectaculars that enrich lives through creativity, connection, and contribution." Inspired by 'Something About a Soldier' performed in 1949 at the Ross Bandstand, the Tattoo has grown to an international extravaganza, with cutting edge lighting, fireworks and world-class Military bands. Edinburgh Foodies Festival: 2-4 August 2024 "Eat delicious street food from around the world. Taste new flavours. Meet artisan producers." Gather at Inverleith Park for taste sensations, culinary treats and to watch experts in their element. Edinburgh Art Festival: 9-25 August 2024 "The 19th edition is set to be one of the largest yet, with 55 ambitious projects, talks, performances, parties and one-off events across more than 35 partners and venues." A central festival bringing collections from artists from across the globe.
