Decorated in soft blues and green, The Charming Fleet Cottage is located nearby the Galloway Forest Park and is dog friendly.
Staying here is like coming home – Bluetooth speaker, Netflix, smart TV & free WiFi sit alongside books, games and guidebooks – there is always something to do here, whatever the weather.

The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up scrumptious food, but if you want to fully relax visit the local pub, the Masonic Arms.

Two luxury bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and a deep bath in the other. Coupled with that the two bedrooms with crisp white linen on a double and a king bed will draw you in. Ample wardrobe and drawer space in both rooms. Everything you need and more.

Interior layout Upstairs first left is the bathroom with both bedrooms either side. Downstairs is the shower room and then through a door into the lounge/dining area and kitchen.

Exterior Formerly a Georgian schoolhouse, now converted into 3 separate properties. Charming Fleet Cottage is the end house and has private parking outside. To the rear of the house is a courtyard garden which is shared with the other two houses. There is a designated (as private as possible, outside space for each cottage with it's own garden furniture and eating space. A BBQ is available for use.

Directions

From Dumfries - Turn off the A75 at Gatehouse of Fleet and drive a mile or so into the village. As you come on to the High Street you will see the Clock Tower – turn left here into Ann Street and we are opposite the Masonic Pub.

From Stranraer – Turn off the A75 at Gatehouse of Fleet by the Castle and drive up the High Street to the Clock Tower and turn right into Ann Street, we are opposite the Masonic pub.

One of the most outstanding rentals that we have been in, everything is 5 star, from the décor, items in the house and help from the people that own it! The rental has everything that you need and the nice touches from the owners, like the beer, bread, eggs etc.. are little touches that make is that extra bit special. We will be back again and we would have no hesitation in recommending this place!

Thoroughly recommended accommodation We had a very enjoyable week at The Charming Fleet Cottage in April and plan to return in the future. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and is very comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We enjoyed exploring the village and surrounding area and the cottage is in an ideal location to explore the wider Dumfries and Galloway region. The Masonic Arms opposite has a varied menu with excellent food and welcoming friendly staff, we ate there every evening.

One of the best cottages we’ve ever stayed in. Really well equipped, beautifully decorated with the added bonus of being dog friendly. The brilliant welcome pack was much appreciated as were the lots of extras in the house in general. It’s a lovely area, great walks from the door and a dog friendly pub serving great food opposite. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful stay in the very comfortable Charming Fleet Cottage in early July. It is situated in a lovely and quiet part of Gatehouse of Fleet. It was great to come back to this home from home after a day exploring amazing Dumfries and Galloway. The property has every home comfort, including Netflix on the tele. There are some very thoughtful touches like the substantial welcome pack in the kitchen and the range of spices to use. There is a super shower room downstairs and bathroom upstairs. We enjoyed eating in, using the kitchen facilities but if you prefer to go out to eat then there are a small number of eateries close by. We had a meal at the Bank of Fleet hotel and the Masonic arms which is directly across the road. Both serving the usual pub food. Thanks Janet, hope to come back soon.

A wonderful accommodation set just off the Main Street of Gatehouse of Fleet, The Charming Fleet Cottage is within very easy walking distance of a number of beautiful countryside walks and parkland. The accommodation is very comfortable with loads of space both upstairs and downstairs. The owners left a fantastic welcome pack with the type of things you would ordinarily reach out for in your home and expect to be there. There is a lovely private seating area out the back of the premises, which is ideal for relaxing and enjoying a drink or a meal. I think the biggest compliment I could pay this accommodation is that it is extremely comfortable and most definitely a place to go if you want a wee bit of luxury and comfort in a fantastic location. We will definitely be back…

Had a lovely short break at The Charming Fleet Cottage. Absolutely gorgeous and a huge bonus that it is dog friendly. Really warm and cosy which was much appreciated when the weather was somewhat mixed… Really well equipped kitchen, a real home from home. Great location for exploring the area. We have just returned home from our visit to your beautiful cottage, “The Charming Fleet Cottage”. Thank you for a brilliant stay. The cottage is 5 star in every way. It has been lovingly restored to an amazing standard, you should be very proud of it. Nothing has been left to chance. We might steal some ideas for our own house! The location is perfect for numerous walks and the pub across the road. Thank you also for the lovely treats you left for us and Buster the dog. We would love to visit again.

Our first visit to Gatehouse of Fleet and The Charming Fleet Cottage blew us away. Absolutely perfect. Janet and Kevin have been the perfect hosts. The Charming Fleet Cottage is the best equipped cottage we’ve stayed in and we’ve stayed in quite a few! Really appreciated the little added touches, a lovely little food hamper & even our dog got a little helping of doggy treats. Not to mention the beautiful fresh vase of Roses. Lots of beautiful walks right on the doorstep too. Just perfect. A real home from home. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank-you both for making our holiday so memorable.

3rd time staying at this lovely holiday rental. Very comfortable, extremely clean and well catered for. Plenty hot water, fantastic bathroom facilities. Fantastic location, easy access to biking trails, village shops and pubs. Already booked up again for next year. Absolutely thumbs up to Janet (owner) & team.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages and The Charming Fleet Cottage was streets ahead. The accommodation is clean and luxurious- I especially liked the Orla Kiely bedding! A gorgeous welcome pack was provided along with cold beer and chilled glasses. It's a fantastic base for exploring but there are also so many amenities on your doorstep. Cally Gardens is literally round the corner and the Masonic Arms opposite the cottage does delicious food and drinks 🍸 We will definitely be back!

Charming Fleet Cottage is a lovely cottage, and like it's neighbour The Boutique Fleet Cottage where we stayed last year, it is presented to an extremely high standard. The cottage is beautifully furnished and comfortable with everything needed for a relaxing break. Gatehouse of Fleet and the surrounding area is very nice with some stunning scenery, gardens to visit and great walks. The welcoming flowers and many other goodies left by Janet and Kevin make this a very special place to stay and we hope to be back to visit again soon.
